This multi-level addition to the existing inmate housing facility posed some unique challenges throughout the construction process, including an innovatively designed radiant cooling system and institutional-level security requirements. The building consists of seven stories containing both inmate housing and recreation areas, and required the installation of over twenty-four miles of plumbing- and mechanical-system piping. Making use of the complex's existing steam boilers, a basement-level heating-system mechanical room is installed in conjunction with a seventh-floor cooling-system mechanical room. Together, these two mechanical systems provide conditioned space via in-floor radiant tubing. As prime mechanical contractor, Lind's Plumbing assumed complete responsibility for overseeing progress and installation quality for all HVAC, BAS control, balancing, mechanical, insulation, and water treatment systems.
The CSU Engines Lab is globally recognized for energy research and education. Energy usage and conservation solutions have always been a driving force of Lind’s Plumbing’s ownership and employees, so it was an honor to receive the invitation to join the design and installation team for this LEED Platinum Certified project. This green-research complex expansion and renovation (currently under construction) is designed to measure and verify heating- and cooling-system energy usage. In order to assist this application of study, Lind’s Plumbing is contributing to the design and layout of 24.6 miles of radiant tubing — to be installed within the slabs of each floor and stairwell wall — in an effort to address variable factors affecting comfort from both the interior and exterior of the building.
Renovated and expanded for public use, the Loveland Library project allowed us to share our experience installing water based heating systems and domestic plumbing. Designed with desire to maximize usage of available space, the routing of these systems posed challenges. Teamwork with the contractor, owner, and the other skilled trades allowed us to present this project on time with expectations of design accomplished.
Our customers' efforts to meet demand for senior living have benefitted from Lind’s professional skills in both residential and commercial construction. The comfort, security, and dignity of senior residents are upheld amid our professionally installed plumbing and hydronic heating / cooling systems.
The Poudre Valley Medical Fitness at Marina Health Campus is a 68,982 square foot ground up facility located in Windsor, CO. Seven Generations is a 56,000 SF office building. It received its Platinum certification through numerous energy efficient items including, high efficient instantaneous water heater, 92% efficient boiler and low flow fixtures.
Salud Family Health was a ground up 39,243 square foot medical and dental clinic. Salud Family Health was a mechanical dream for companies like ours. This buildings mechancial scope was completed through a ground source geothermal system. The water used from the earth was then sent throughout the building through a two pipe system to Heat Pumps which converted the water into heat or cooling depending on the time of the year or the location of the building. This building is running more efficient than the typically built buildings lowering running costs year after year.
The Boyd Lake Medical Office Building totals 16,450 square feet with three different medical tenant finishes. This two story building houses Dr. Reynolds Oral, Facial Surgery of Loveland and Dr. Crane Orthodontics. Along with the standard restroom groups and exam office sinks this project also utilizes vacuum piping and medical gas.
Harmony One is a 52,212 SF office building that holds not only the owner, Brinkman Partners, but many other occupants throughout the tenant areas. This project is LEED Accredited for the numerous environmentally friendly systems such as the waterless urinals, low flow fixtures, and an energy efficient mechanical system.
The Markley Motors Project consisted of two phases, the first being a heated 6,400 square foot addition for customers to drop their vehicles off. The area consisted of in-floor radiant heat, keeping any ice off the floor during the winter months. The run-off from the vehicles was then ran into a long section of trench drain and treated with a Sand and Oil Separator cleaning the contents. The renovation totaling 10,000 square feet included completely renovated restroom and break room areas.
The Palomino Mexican Restaurant is a 6,080 square foot ground up restaurant. The space consisted of a fully operational commercial kitchen allowing the restaurant to function properly, including gas to numerous appliances, hot and cold water piping to all required pieces of equipment and a 1,500 gallon grease interceptor.
The FMC Pavilion Dialysis Clinic is a 24 chair dialysis center located at the Denver Pavilion Center. We provided waste and water connections for the chairs and the dialysis equipment. This tenant finish also has commercial Restrooms, exam sinks, and high demand for domestic hot water. This project sat over an underground parking facility which finished prior to the completion of the clinic making it challenging to work on the job while maintaining operation of the garage.
